FEBRUARY NEWSLETTER

WHAT TO EXPECT IN FEBRUARY  It is hard to believe we have made it to February and not yet used a snow day! Last year we had one every week. Hopefully we will continue to be this lucky for the next two months. The unseasonably warm weather has allowed us to be outside almost everyday. It is great for the children to be outside working their gross motor skills and breathing the fresh air. Please remember to send your child ready to play outside each day.

Although February is a “short month” we will fit in many fun and exciting activities. The first week of February is Nursery Rhyme week and the teachers will do their annual performance of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. It is always a crowd pleaser! Our dramatic play area will be transformed into a Post Office where children can write and send notes to one another. The classes will also be walking to the mailbox to send special Valentine wishes to the special loved ones in their lives.

SAVE OUR SCHOOL UPDATE  We are still in discussions with a church in Port Chester regarding a merger of our two pre-school programs. We have put a deadline regarding a decision for February 17th. As soon as there is news I will let you know. I know I have said it a million times but, thank you again for all of the support with this challenging situation.

JUNE SCHOOL  After giving it a great deal of thought, we will not be offering the June School option this year. Consdering our current circumstance I felt it is not in our best interest to offer this option. The last day of classes is June 4. Senior Celebration on June 5 and the Year End Ice Cream Party on June 6.

CARNIVAL  Again due to our current circumstances, we will not be holding our annual fundraising children’s carnival. Instead, we will do some sort of “Family Fun Day” that will be for our current families and RUMNS alumni. We will do it on the same date we had the carnival scheduled (Saturday, May 5). More information to follow!
